O Uberaba Sport Club abriu oficialmente sua fase de preparação nesta terça-feira dia 19 de maio, ao disputar o primeiro jogo-treino da temporada; assim, a comissão técnica avaliou desempenho coletivo e intensidade física visando o Campeonato Mineiro do Módulo II.
Em confronto realizado no CT Ninho do Periquito na cidade de Uberlândia, o Colorado enfrentou o Uberlândia Esporte Clube e, apesar da boa organização inicial, sofreu derrota por 1 a 0, resultado que, entretanto, pouco influenciou a análise técnica do trabalho.
Sob comando do técnico Rafael Andrade, o time iniciou com Wesley Richard; Fabrício, Felipe Codó, Glauco e Giba; Douglas Alemão, Anderson Brito e Geovane; Lucas Honório, Bruno Henrique e Gabriel Papaléo. Além disso, o treinador promoveu diversas mudanças no segundo tempo; dessa forma, ampliou a observação individual, acelerou o ganho de ritmo e testou variações táticas importantes para o início da temporada.
Portanto, mesmo com o revés, o jogo-treino cumpriu papel estratégico, já que permitiu ajustes defensivos, maior entrosamento ofensivo e leitura competitiva antecipada do elenco.
